Jumpstarting your Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) Work
The Jumpstarting your Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) Work course is designed for individuals embarking on their journey in DEI initiatives. Conducted entirely online and taught in English, this course comprises three sessions, each focusing on crucial aspects of DEI work.
Session One: Defining DEI Scope and Professional Role
In the first session, participants will delve into understanding the scope of DEI work, exploring its nuances, and identifying their roles as DEI professionals. Through interactive discussions and exercises, learners will gain clarity on the fundamental concepts and frames shaping diversity, equity, and inclusion work, laying a strong foundation for their role.
Session Two: Identifying Key Areas and Roadmap Designing
The second session revolves around identifying key areas for action within organizations and crafting a strategic roadmap for implementing DEI initiatives. Participants will learn how to conduct comprehensive assessments, analyze organizational needs, and develop action plans tailored to specific contexts. By the end of this session, learners will be equipped with practical tools and frameworks to drive meaningful change in their workplaces.
Session Three: Creating Engagement, Managing Resistance, and Sustaining Support
In the final session, emphasis will be placed on fostering engagement across all levels of the organization, addressing resistance to DEI efforts, and ensuring sustained support for long-term impact. Participants will explore effective communication strategies, techniques for navigating challenges, and tactics for building alliances within their organizations. By sharing experiences and insights, learners will develop a deeper understanding of best practices and cultivate a supportive network of fellow DEI professionals.
